As Solutions Architect you will help improve IT efficiency by analyzing, designing and updating the big data ecosystem's capacity and this platform's components.
You will ensure consistency with the organization's current and future needs and structure, while also ensuring that new components are compatible with the existing architecture (software applications, products, services, etc.).

More specifically, the mission of the Advanced Analytics Centre of Expertise is to accelerate the development of data within Desjardins Group and serve as a catalyst for digital transformation.

Your role will consist in advising the delivery teams, designing the detailed architecture of the advanced analytical solutions by using the capacity available in the big data ecosystem. In this way, you, with the help of the data developers, will define data ingestion and transformation in detail.

As an expert, you will recommend robust solutions that meet the security requirements and state of the art market practices.

You will work closely with the lead architect in defining and achieving the road map's objectives, and in simplifying the architecture patterns and standards.

Additional responsibilities

  • Advise and direct the client in analyzing and defining their needs within various critical and cross-sector projects.
  • Design advanced analytical architecture applications by selecting the appropriate ingestion, transformation and automated roll-out technology.
  • Advise and assist the team with positioning, planning, development, performance and follow-up of various strategic mandates.
  • Coordinate studies and the positioning, feasibility and detailed design phases. Recommend technology.
  • Develop, produce and apply conceptual and logic models as well as design, implementation and integration strategies.
  • Ensure cross-sector coordination with decision-making bodies and committees. Provide support and follow-up.
  • Oversee the projects needed to ensure the quality, performance, reliability, availability and continuous improvement of technology solutions and systems.
  • Advise the technical teams in the design and execution of solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in informatique or in a related field
  • A minimum of six years of experience in business intelligence, large-scale DW/Big Data projects
  • Experience in solutions architecture for large data volumes
  • Experience in implementing API solutions
  • Knowledge of the DevOps (Git, GitLab, Jenkins) field and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Experience in an Azur, PaaS, Hortonworks / Cloudera environment (an asset)
  • Experience programming using Python, R, .Net, Java or other relevant languages (an asset)
  • Experience with big data and machine learning (an asset)
  • Experience in the following environments: DB2, DataStage, SAS, Unix and/or Linux (an asset)

Specific knowledge

  • Knowledge of Spark and Hadoop (Hive, HDFS, Kafka, NiFi, etc.) technologies
  • Knowledge of NoSQL (HBase, ElasticSearch, MongoDB) technologies
  • Knowledge of the various disciplines of enterprise software development, such as configuration and version management, source code and version control, and continuous integration (an asset)
