Scope

Reporting to the Manager, HRIS, the incumbent plays a key role in the management, maintenance and expansion of Concordia University's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including requirements gathering and requirements management process; conducting workshops with stakeholders so as to elicit, analyze, and document needs relating to security and access profiles and in order to support in the optimal management pertaining to data integrity, data cleaning and mapping of data from legacy systems to new systems.

Primary responsibilities

  • Analyze the University's information needs regarding HR data and develop ways to ensure that these needs are met.
  • Understand system interconnectivity, including data mapping with legacy systems, and proactively perform analysis to monitor data and ensure replication/interfacing is successfully functioning across applications making up the HR solution.
  • Produce data quality statistics and conduct data quality audits to escalate issues for resolution, including replication/ interfacing across applications making up the HR solution. Continuously analyze HR business data and its quality.
  • Maintain listing of HR Solution application security definitions, to inform the development and application of policies/ procedures regarding the HRIS confidentiality and security. Control access to the HRIS.
  • Evaluate and configure changes to security setup for applications comprised within Concordia's HR Solutions, in collaboration with IITS functional analyst(s).
  • Follow and maintain proper internal security controls and monitor segregation of duties.
  • Manage and develop the procedures for proper interfaces between the HRIS and other systems to support changes to overall HR Solution security (i.e.: these systems may be administered by other departments or be external to the University).
  • Prepare for and participate in internal security audits and/or external security audits where required.
  • Provide support for the preparation and evaluation of the Request for Information and Request for Proposal.
  • Actively participate in various University committees as a Subject Matter Expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, or any other related field, with four to seven years of related work experience, including experience in implementation of ERP systems.
  • Understanding of HRIS data structures; working in report creation, modeling, and trend forecasting (SAP S/4, SAP SuccessFactors is an asset).
  • Advanced knowledge of security and role management, authorization objects, and access management; deep understanding of Cloud application security (role, domain, business process, report, integration; understanding of internal security controls and segregation of duties; understanding of client data protection rules, desirable.
  • Broad understanding of an integrated HRIS (SAP S/4, SAP SuccessFactors, Workforce Software, Sodales Solutions would be an asset).
  • Experience in creating reports and working on special projects; knowledge of SQL, XML and SAP reporting tools (an asset); ability to use business intelligence tools for integrated reports creation.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel (macros, pivot tables, and/or formulas to conduct data verification and validation), Access, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint.
  • Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English in order to provide complex information, clear explanations and documentation to end-users. Basic (Level 3) spoken French.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and clarify business needs formulated by stakeholders.
  • Strong and proven project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to organize work effectively and set work priorities under time constraints; ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to frequent change.
  • Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both member of a team and independently.

Salary

$83,292 - $96,594 per annum
