Specific accountabilities

Committed to supporting Ivanhoé Cambridge's business platforms throughout the next phase of our growth and the implementation of our business plan, the Information Technologies Department offers a number of exciting challenges for professionals on our team. In keeping with our goal to develop a strategic partnership with our clients in business offices and properties around the world, the Department is currently seeking talented, team-oriented and innovative professionals to join us. Come work with us as our new Advisor, IT Project Management.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for implementing and improving the management structure for the project management office (PMO), in particular by introducing reliable processes and best practices, and for providing support in managing medium- and large-scale projects. Duties will include  the review of project deliverables and support for project control officers (PCOs).

Your duties will include the following: 

  • Support project managers with the planning, execution and monitoring of various projects to ensure on-time delivery in line with project specifications, budgetary requirements, quality standards and clients' expectations:

  • Train and support the team of project managers in the application of relevant standards and processes as well as the use of the Microsoft Project online EPM tool;

  • Ensure projects comply with applicable standards and procedures;
  • Create and configure projects and plans in Microsoft Project;
  • Work with project managers to develop budgets and financial control processes;
  • Manage the implementation of the change request process;

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the project management structure:

  • Define project delivery models;

  • Define and ensure the continuous improvement of project delivery processes in sync with the solution development cycle;
  • Put forward suggestions to improve processes, templates and dashboards;
  • Regularly update the wiki and the project management knowledge base;
  • Support PCOs in using Ivanhoé Cambridge's tools and methods;

  • Help ensure the continuous improvement of the process for managing IT delivery capacity by supporting PCOs and IT managers with capacity management processes and tools;

  • Track the annual project portfolio budget:

  • Compile forecasts, comparing them with the authorized budget and annual project portfolio spending;

  • Provide a consolidated view of the portfolio;
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of dashboards and portfolio overview reports.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT management; master's degree an asset;
  • Eight or more years of IT industry expertise, including five as a project control officer for large-scale IT initiatives;
  • Experience in evaluating the financial performance, risks and cost-effectiveness of IT projects;
  • Experience with the Microsoft Project EPM tool;
  • Experience in project portfolio planning and control;
  • Solid understanding of industry best practices (PMI standards, etc.);
  • PMP certification, a considerable asset;
  • Customer service mindset;
  • Strong leadership skills (persuasion, negotiation, facilitation, decision-making, problem-solving);
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment;
  • Ability to manage several projects at once with ease;
  • Self-motivated, self-starting and detail-oriented;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
