Senior Advisor - Capacity and Performance Management – Telecommunications

The Performance Capacity Analytics and Integrated IT Service Management Department is currently looking for a Senior Advisor, Capacity and Performance Management – Telecommunications to join the team.

This department ensures that all aspects, whether current or future, of the telecommunications infrastructure's capacity and performance satisfy business needs in a timely manner while making sure that services remain stable.

You will advise and assist a dedicated clientele and partners in a proactive manner to ensure service stability. You will propose solutions for improving or optimizing standards, policies and programs. The nature of the files and projects will require in-depth expertise in your field of activity.

You will develop recommendations, solutions and action plans in line with the organization's orientations and objectives. You will help the team to solve complex problems. This will require close analysis and in-depth understanding of the line of business and information technology. Coordination is critical, so you will frequently interact with stakeholders working in other fields. As such, you will need highly developed interpersonal skills.

You will act as a resource person in your field for your unit, for a dedicated clientele and for partners.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and execute a strategic, innovative vision of telecommunications.
  • Diagnose the issues, challenges, needs and problems to be resolved with the operations teams, in requests for patches of moderate to high complexity, IT services, rollouts and post-rollout activities, in order to agree on the desired outcomes.
  • Monitor the condition of the telecommunications infrastructure, analyze the capacity and performance information, conduct studies, develop and propose recommendations, and draft reports.
  • Develop, establish and ensure telecommunications services performance criteria with stakeholders.
  • Support projects (identify network equipment, analyze equipment load, produce telecom line use reports, etc.).
  • Develop and implement objectives, processes, methods, development tools, solutions and action plans.
  • Support and contribute to incident management with operations
  • Coordinate delivery activities for technology solutions
  • Acquire, process and use telecom capacity and performance data

Other working conditions

  • Work location: Montreal or Levis, depending on the candidate's preference

  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications network engineering
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in capacity and performance management
  • Experience in administering SolarWinds and Netscout (installation, configuration, adding equipment, creating dynamic cards, creating reports)
  • Experience drafting technical and executive documents
  • Scripting experience (Python, REST API, PowerShell, etc.) (an asset)

  • Recognized telecommunications certification (an asset)
  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledge

  • Familiarity with integration, performance and upgrade issues
  • Knowledge of Desjardins (an asset)
  • Proficiency with SolarWinds and Netscout tools (essential)
  • Proficiency with the various technologies (telecommunications, security, communication protocols, management tools) (essential)
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3/v4 standards (an asset)
  • Knowledge of network services automation concepts (an asset)
  • Knowledge of project delivery using the Waterfall or Agile methodologies
  • Proficient speaker, advanced proficiency in English
