JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to IT Operations Manager, IT Cyber Security Analyst is for responsible for security of KF Aerospace IT Infrastructure; prevention of Cybersecurity incidents by real-time monitoring, detection, and analysis of potential intrusions; assist with the design, implementation and on-going maintenance of security solutions, policies, and processes; monitor and report compliance with KF Aerospace’s IT Policies and Contractual obligations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with IT Operation Manager and Network Supervisor to develop security policies and standards; maintains and enforces group-wide information security policies, standards, and control techniques.
  • Safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Make recommendations on access privileges, control structures, and resources to protect systems, data, and assets; coordinate and lead regular security tasks such as user account audits.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to ensure that appropriate controls are implemented, operating properly, and in accordance with the corporate policies.
  • Investigate security breaches and ensuring incident management processes are documented and followed; make recommendations to IT management for security improvements.
  • Perform and/or manage regular vulnerabilities scans, penetration tests, and security audits.
  • Analyse logs from different sources to identify security threats; monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations.
  • Promote information security education, training, and awareness; manage KF security training and security campaigns.
  • Produce regular security reports and briefings.
  • Assist with new vendors and solutions security reviews.
  • Manage 3rd party information security providers, including directing and managing deliverables.


REQUIREMENTS

Cyber Security Qualifications / Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in risk, compliance, and information security.
  • 2+ years performing or managing vulnerabilities scans, penetration tests and security incident management.
  • Strong knowledge of security incident management, malware management and vulnerability management processes.
  • Solid knowledge of network and various information security frameworks.
  • Experience with security aspects of Azure cloud is preferred.
  • Experience with SIEM, IAM and PAM is considered as an advantage.

General Requirements

  • BA or BS degree or diploma in Information Security, Cyber Security, or Computer Science.
  • Working towards or possession of CISSP, CISA, CISM, CDPSE or similar certifications.
  • Working towards or possession of Microsoft Azure security certification is a plus.
  • A quick learner, able to understand technical and business problems, creating and driving solutions to those problems.
  • Available for emergency call out for major security related incidents.
  • Ability to communicate and educate a non-technical audience about technical security issues and measures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain secret – level II security clearance.

LOCATION

The successful incumbent could be based in the Kelowna, British Columbia or Hamilton, Ontario areas. Occasional travel within Canada is required (for Hamilton location – regular quarterly visits to Kelowna, plus one month on-site in Kelowna for initial training). Remote work within Canada and regular travel will be considered for the right candidate.
