Big White Ski Resort is currently seeking a full-time, year-round IT support technician. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will work closely with all departments to provide desktop and end-user support across all of our properties. You will need to think on your feet and use your broad technical knowledge to remotely identify, troubleshoot, resolve or escalate user issues based on priority.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact to provide technical support to end users via phone, email and the internal helpdesk portal in a timely fashion
  • Troubleshooting a variety of devices including workstations, laptops, smart phones, and other peripherals
  • Taking ownership of user problems and following up as required
  • Organizing, prioritizing and escalating issues as necessary
  • Maintaining and updating inventory in the asset management system when required
  • Installing, investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults
  • Ensuring RFID gates and ticketing Pickup Boxes are operational and functioning efficiently
Position requirements/skills:
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Previous experience supporting Windows Servers and Desktops
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suites
  • Good understanding of networking (LAN, DNS, DHCP, VLAN etc…)
  • Strong problem solver with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work autonomously
  • POS experience is desirable
  • Ability to work weekends, depending on the season
  • Walking / skiing / snowboarding
Schedule:
40 hours per week. Scheduled days change as the winter/summer/shoulder season operations change.

Location:
This role is not remote, and must be located at Big White Ski Resort.
