The Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC), a subsidiary of TMX Group - Montréal Exchange, acts as the central clearing counterparty for exchange-traded derivatives and for the fixed income (repo) market between financial institutions and pension plans. CDCC's role is to ensure the integrity and stability of the markets that it supports.

Our unit is responsible for development of the applications (SOLA Clearing) used to operate CDCC's clearing system, and to enable clearing members to carry out post-trade transactions and collateral management. Our projects involve achieving operational excellence, supporting new financial instruments, supporting clearing transactions and meeting regulatory standards and requirements, such as those of the Bank of Canada or the Autorité des marchés financiers.

Reporting to the Core Clearing Product Owner, you will help make changes to our services for both external users and our members. We want to offer new financial products and migrate certain services to a new web application. To these ends, you will be working in an Agile environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team of programmer analysts, architects and test analysts. You will take part in the reverse engineering of existing services to identify potential improvements for the operations teams and help optimize solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analytical mind - Learn about and understand the environment and its needs in order to make adjustments to and develop our clearing platform.

  • Summary of requirements - Identify the various requirements based on needs, within the scope of each project.

  • Communication - Document existing and new functions.

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technological area

  • 3 years of experience in functional analysis

  • 5 years of experience on a development team

  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is essential for this position, as it involves dealing with external and internal stakeholders who communicate mainly in English.

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of financial markets, post-trading or clearing activities

  • Knowledge of derivatives or fixed-income pensions

  • Experience working in Agile mode

  • Knowledge of C++ programming (i.e., reading code)

  • Knowledge of the Atlassian suite of tools
