Financial Analyst I&t, Project Accounting and Overhead

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our I&T finance team, who will be responsible for providing financial support to IT project delivery teams. You will be responsible for monitoring project costs, understanding and controlling these costs against established budgets, forecasting on a regular basis and performing month-end closing activities (entries, reconciliation, reports, etc). You will also be responsible for understanding and analyzing operational expenses associated with the teams, including resource management and their impact on the internal financial statements of the various VPs.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Be the analyst responsible for financial monitoring of I&T projects.
  • Participate in determining project investments and analyzing OPEX/CAPEX costs.
  • Monitor project costs, identify recurring costs and their impact on operations.
  • Take charge of month-end and financial planning processes (reconciliation, forecasts, budgets, risks and opportunities) within the team.
  • Update, consolidate and analyze budgets/forecasts for resources and project portfolios of I&T Vice-Presidents.
  • Support department heads and heads of service in the close monitoring and analysis of their overhead expenses in their cost centres.
  • Support project and program managers in their decision-making using various financial analyses.
  • Participate in the monitoring and continuous improvement of KPIs and Cost Drivers for the department.
  • Carry out certain internal controls (SOX) related to project monitoring.
  • Participate in various I&T Group initiatives.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • A CPA accounting designation would be an asset.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience relevant to the position.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Outstanding analysis skills.
  • A strong interest in learning and maintaining effective business processes.
  • A good sense of initiative and autonomy.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.

This position will be based in Valcourt, Sherbrooke or Montreal.
