Summary

The Digital team is seeking a strategic, analytical, and collaborative Director to lead the Digital Product team that manages the performance of our multiple digital properties across Canada. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Digital Product & Content Platforms, this leader will provide strategic leadership in the development and management of audience traffic and monetization performance that support Bell Media’s digital services They will lead a team of over 20 professionals as they drive the evolution of Bell Media’s digital product strategy, while managing initiatives to deliver on cost targets. The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills that allow for a balance of intense attention to detail as well as the ability to see the big picture. Also critical to the role is a demonstrated ability to work well with internal cross-functional partners as well as manage external relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of an annual product roadmaps, working closely with platform and development teams as well as brand stakeholders.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape, technology trends and audience behavior to recommend new products and lines of business
  • Lead our SEO strategy and performance across web and app stores
  • As the senior lead in Quebec, responsible for partnering with leaders from across Bell Media’s Quebec team and aligning digital strategy to overall Bell Media business goals.
  • Deliver on financial objectives for the business unit
  • Sets, manages and reports on the product budget.
  • Identifies operational improvement opportunities by monitoring and measuring the Product Management Team performance.
  • Provides team leadership on an ongoing basis (performance planning and assessment, career management) with a focus on coaching, mentoring and on-going performance.
  • Provides support to managers to ensure department is operating effectively and efficiently from a people leadership perspective.

Critical Qualifications

  • Superior strategic thinking and negotiation skills combined with the ability to effectively synthesize and simplify complex situations
  • Strong analytics skills with previous experience in managing large P&Ls
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability cultivate and build beneficial external relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal partners in a cross functional organization through partnership, collaboration and open communication
  • Experienced in coaching and leading teams to deliver high performance
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to communicate market trends, industry shifts and financial analysis to senior executive team
  • Proven ability to drive results with sense of urgency
  • Highly pro-active, and flexible with the ability to adapt to a complex and quickly changing environment.
  • Excellent project and time-management skills
  • Bilingualism is required (English and French)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in key management accountabilities including operational planning, performance measurement, budgeting, risk management, people leadership and stakeholder relationship management and project management, ideally in the digital space
  • University degree at a minimum, ideally with a focus on marketing and business.
  • Specific experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics or comparable analytics suite
  • Experience with both SEO and SEM
  • Solid experience with online marketing tools and web-based technologies
  • Understanding of how digital channels work
  • Experience working directly with social media platforms
  • Bilingualism is required (English and French)

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
