The Business Application Specialist is responsible for providing first line of support in their assigned areas ensuring proper utilization of IT applications, issues resolution, interaction with the IT organization to develop solutions and specifically supporting Trax users under the supervision of the Manager, Business Application and Process Support. Other responsibilities include documentation of issues, business requirements for system modifications as well as testing and acceptance of new software releases and bug fixes.

Responsabilities:

  • Act as the point of contact for bugs review and process issues resolution as it pertains to TRAX and other business unit applications.
  • Be the primary interface with IT organization for 2nd level support for issue resolution.
  • Participate in the benefits evaluation in support of business cases for mods and IT initiatives.
  • Document business requirements for system modifications.
  • Using self-serve IT Tool, design & develop non-operational business reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI, Power Apps etc), including producing detailed documentation on the tool.
  • Document business requirements for reports and dashboards for development by the BI team.
  • Develop and execute business test scripts for any application in area or responsibility.
  • Test new releases & delivered fixes and provide sign-off for area or responsibility.
  • Document system procedures and processes to provide support in understanding system functionality and to support training requirements.
  • Assist new and existing employees with ACM applications, provide training as required to ensure Process Adherence and Transactional Accuracy (PATA) throughout their respective areas.

Qualifications

  • University degree in in a relevant field of study
  • Experience in project management an asset
  • Experience in performing in the role of a Business Analyst, specifically documenting business requirements.
  • User knowledge of TRAX and other relevant IT system in the business area.
  • Familiarity with the processes and procedure for maintenance, engineering and supply chain in an airline, an asset.
  • PC skills: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, Visio, PowerBI, Power Apps.
  • Experience in problem analysis and resolution
  • Sense of initiative, self-discipline and proactive thinking.
  • Team player.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including weekends as required.
