At Amazon, the Last Mile Technology group is tasked with envisioning and developing cutting edge initiatives in delivering packages to our customers as fast and as cost effectively as possible, at the quality that our customers expect. We own the software that enables global package delivery for parcels, same day Prime delivery, and Amazon Grocery and Whole Foods Market to name a few Amazon business powered by our technology and experiences. With Amazon Flex, we enable people to be their own boss and earn money while delivering packages for Amazon. In all cases, we are working on the core technology that ensures we are providing a great experience for package delivery to customers while innovating to make continually improve the delivery experience.
Our mobile application works in concert with our advanced logistics systems and technology. These technologies allow delivery partners to onboard, schedule delivery times in advance or on-demand, and be guided through their deliveries with in-app mapping, navigation, and much more. Our ability to engage with and provide a world-class experience to both customers and our delivery partners has become more critical as we continue to expand the number of active delivery partners and target faster deliveries to our customers.
Being part of a customer obsessed company and working as part of this team, you’ll be tasked with the design, development, test, and deployment of a range of products that make it possible to deliver packages to customers in two hours or less all over the world. You will have an opportunity to conceptualize, design, build, test and own software systems. You will influence the technical direction of the team, work with many different technologies. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience in designing and building software for mobile (iOS/Android), front-end and back-end systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Mobile application development (Android and iOS) experience and proficient in Java
- Experience with integrating hardware solutions (i.e. electronic access controls) into software solutions.
