Reports to: Manager, Financial Business Systems

Purpose of the Role Own, maintain and enhance the end to end data flow, analytics and reporting within BI for Finance. Work with business stakeholders of various levels to provide insights and transform data to visualize key financial metrics and performance indicators. They will work with Finance and business stakeholders to provide support on system outputs such as reports, forecasts, KPIs and other data analysis.

The candidate will work cross functionally within Finance and IT for system updates, modifications, resolving system issues, and upgrades to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. They will work to provide documentation and training for users of Finance systems and provides end-user support as required.

This is a Full Time Remote role based in Ontario.

Core Accountabilities

  • Take ownership of the PowerBI infrastructure and coordinate with Finance stakeholders to lead the development of data into dashboards, informative reports, and KPIs to enable strategic financial business decisions
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert in design reviews to ensure feasibility of requirements, quality and performance of data and solutions
  • Work with Stakeholders to design, build, interact and conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to improve forecasting, targeting and performance measurement
  • Work with IT to continuously identify opportunities to automate, optimize and streamline ETL processes that will bring in efficiency in reporting and analytical environments
  • Participate in a variety of data analytics and dashboard development projects including working within the project specifications, scope and deadlines. Lead and/or participate in all financial system application projects, upgrades and information gathering sessions
  • Conduct gap analysis and make recommendations to management on improving BI functionality/usage
  • Develop and maintain systems documentation.
  • Maintain and develop configuration workbooks and end user guides
  • Provide end-user support requests.
  • Work with cross functional teams to resolve issues regarding finance reporting and analytics

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in related discipline
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is an asset
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in utilizing advanced data analysis tools (SAS, Alteryx, Excel, Open Source etc.)
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in BI platform and data visualization tools (Power BI, etc.) with advanced knowledge of Power BI including DAX, Access Controls, Data Ingestion, and Complex Reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Power Query including M language, and be able to perform complex data transformations
  • Experience in utilizing advanced SQL data extraction and manipulation tools (MS SQL)
  • Superb analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only manipulate but also derive meaningful interpretations from data
  • Knowledge of financial concepts such as budgets, reconciliations, forecasts, financial KPIs and accounting cycles
  • Experience with data integration and data schema development, and database analytics
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) including Macros
  • Demonstrated experience working with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM
  • Strong attention to detail is essential in this role.

This is a remote role.

Hiring Range: 78,300 - 99,800

The hiring range has been established, however, the final salary recommendation will be determined based off the level of experience, education requirement, external market conditions and internal equity.

In this position, you will be eligible for Lifelabs annual bonus.
