The TMX IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Analyst is responsible for assisting with the coordination, testing and oversight of the TMX DR program, ensuring that critical computer systems can be restored within defined time frames and data loss is minimized, following a disaster.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the facilitation of identifying business recovery objectives for each business unit, and translate these into IT recovery commitments. Also, identify gaps between business recovery priorities and IT recovery capabilities, and ensure that business unit management is aware of each gap.
  • Facilitate and coordinate development and maintenance of DR plans and procedures for each business unit.
  • Maintain standards and procedures for DR documentation.
  • Maintain all DR program documentation.
  • Facilitate and coordinate all DR exercises. Work with IT management to identify planning and execution participants.
  • Facilitate review of all recovery-specific documentation.
  • Build pre-exercise and post-exercise reports.
  • Assist with coordinating pre-exercise planning activities and all post-exercise review activities.
  • Track all approved remediation actions, to ensure they are completed.
  • Conduct DR training for staff in all functional areas. Provide instructional and informative materials on how staff are encouraged to respond during an IT disaster recovery.
  • Coordinate support for industry association DR tests.
  • Work with each industry association to determine support requirements
  • during the planning, execution and review of each industry test.
  • Work with the Business DR Coordinators from each business unit to provide marketplaces and/or clearing functionality during each industry test.
  • Provide audit evidence as the need arises for the DR program.
  • During a real IT disaster situation, provide assistance in the initiation of the DR plan when it is invoked.
  • Coordinate and manage the recovery processes as part of the DR War Room team.
  • Provide support and assistance to management, recovery and validation teams (catering, accommodations, shift scheduling, etc.).

Position Requirements:

  • University or college degree or equivalent in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in an IT environment.
  • Good project management skills. Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the testing of emergency response, recovery support, and business resumption procedures.
  • Ability to effectively interface with managers and staff at all levels within the organization and to take care of industry associations requiring support for DR testing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience:

  • Managing any projects across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Planning (optional but helpful)
  • Proficiency with Google GSuite mandatory
