Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

In support of a recently awarded contract, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible analyzing, designing and implementing network system architectures and network engineering and network systems security (hardware, software and network), including cryptographic key, devices, hardware, firmware or software that embodies or describes cryptographic logic.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Network Engineering for Real-Time systems, Distributed Systems, embedded systems or mission critical systems environments.
  • Network System Integration: hardware and software, (COTS and/or custom developed) components into new or existing systems.
  • Network architecture directly related to implementation practices such as layer 2 nomenclature, routing protocol selection, security protocols, and deployment models in a high security environment.
  • Analyzing, designing, integrating, testing and implementing communications network.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position working on Military Command and Control Software systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience preparing technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience with providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
  • Previous experience with leading teams in the development of network systems, frameworks or strategies.

Special Position Requirements

  • This position is primarily based in a customer location or will require regular travel to and from one or more customer sites to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • 615 Booth, Ottawa, ON; and
  • 1920 Research Private, Ottawa, ON.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week.
  • Physical Environment: Office environment.
  • Travel: As required.
