What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • This position is responsible for preparing financial modelling to support various initiatives, including general analytics, plan and forecast submissions in support of the Logistics Operations team. The role requires provision of standard recommendations and actionable insights to inform decision making and reporting on all logistics finance activities in collaboration with other team members.
  • Executes ad-hoc reports and analysis to identify cost saving opportunities and mitigate business risks; supports various business initiatives through data modelling, financial insights, and guided recommendations.
  • Participates in department process improvements initiatives and contributes to operational efficiency and automations (i.e. benchmarking, development of training materials).
  • Perform deep dives on bill exceptions, carrier statements, rate submissions, payments, contract negotiations, and third-party audits to provide timely recommendations to the Logistics Operations team.
  • Prepares various time-sensitive weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly logistics-related financial reports (i.e. flash reports, quarter-end packages, payment files, freight costs, spend reports, GL reconciliation) for presentation to senior management.
  • Maintains, updates, investigates, and provides variance explanations on financial plans related to budgets and forecasts for one or more functions within logistics (Store Delivery, Ocean Shipments, North American Inbound, Vendor Relations).
  • Develops strong partnerships with Logistics Operations stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate sharing of information; partners across functionally (i.e. Logistics Payables, Financial Control) to report on logistics costs and margin analysis adjustments.

Salary Range: $58, 910 - $82, 472

This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

What you'll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • A post-secondary education in related field (i.e. Finance and Accounting, Business/Economics, Statistics).
  • A related professional designation (i.e. CPA, CFA, MBA) is considered an asset; in-progress designations will be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional Accounting or Financial Analysis experience (i.e. knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis best practices); ability to apply knowledge of GAAP in tactical initiatives, providing financial insights.
  • Proven analytical & problem-solving skills including analysis of complex information and research skills with knowledge of database design/manipulation concepts.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work in a detail-oriented, multi-project environment while meeting tight and fixed deadlines; ability to work independently; estimate time required to complete projects and keep appropriate team members informed on progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel), Power BI, Power Query, and SharePoint; experience with accounting software, database, and data manipulation tools (i.e. Oracle, TM1, Monarch) is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience supporting Logistics and/or Supply Chain Operations is preferred.
