The Opportunity

This position is field based in Canada, in the Core Diagnostics Division. We're empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. Under the supervision of the Core Diagnostics Controller, the Manager Finance is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and preparing the annual Plan, monthly Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and supporting the monthly Country Management Review (CMR) reporting submissions in addition to maintaining all financial systems used for submissions. This role provides sales forecasting support to commercial/marketing and analytics for CMR.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for planning, managing, analyzing, and consolidating the Division Local Planning Cycles. Work closely with Departmental Management to ensure success of the cycles (Marketing, Commercial, Regulatory, Service, Distribution and Admin).

  • Complete the commercial requirements for sales forecasts and expense management with respect to the financial planning/monthly forecast submissions. Provide financial support to managers within Core Diagnostics Canada and Area HQ.

  • Schedule, coordinate, compile, analyze and deliver key reports; Annual Plan, Month end Reporting, Expense Management, Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and assist with preparation of the monthly Country Management Review cycle (CMR).

  • Compile, interpret and distribute monthly reports to management including KPI's and commentary.

  • Review/ approve a variety of other important reports or demand for expenses and have support documentation to justify; Plan/CMR/LBE assumptions, price analysis, accruals, spending of A & P dollars, invoices etc.

  • Assists with local month end procedures including P&L variance commentary.

  • Prepare local planning calendar and ensure all deliverables and financial expectations to Area Finance are met.

  • Create, maintain, and publish various Power BI reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. CPA designation will be considered an asset.

  • 5+ years of previous experience in a similar role.

  • Revenue Recognition experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and financial applications i.e., SAP, Business Objects.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timelines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

  • Excellent English communications skills, French would be considered an asset.

  • Receptive to change and a team player.

  • Ability to prioritize and to meet strict deadline requirements.
