Second Harvest is Canada's largest food rescue organization and is a global thought leader on perishable food redistribution. We work with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to redirect unsold surplus food to non-profit organizations that feed communities in every province and territory. Our mission is to keep food where it belongs: On plates and out of landfills.

As a collaborative, enthusiastic artist, the Graphic Designer is responsible for designing compelling and eye-catching graphics as well as updating existing material for Second Harvest, with a focus on individual donor cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship; marketing assets for corporate partnerships and sponsorships; and internal materials such as proposal and slide deck templates.

You Will

  • Design visual assets for various internal and external marketing projects.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop creative concepts and ideas.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Prepare final artwork for print and digital media.
  • Manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality deliverables that meet project requirements. Ensure designs align with brand guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships with team members and other departments to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide design support for key annual fundraising campaigns and appeals, including direct mail, digital campaigns, cause marketing partnerships, and events.
  • Assist in the production of marketing materials, including campaign decks, brochures, flyers, and social media graphics.
  • Manage content intake for our in-house asset bank.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

  • Great at multitasking and can manage multiple priorities and projects. You are able to meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work.
