About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated Computer Science Co-op Student to join our dynamic team. This co-op opportunity provides you with the chance to engage in exciting projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of computer science. Collaborating closely with our team of skilled software developers and engineers, you will actively contribute to designing, developing, and testing innovative software solutions. This role will expose you to various governmental business areas, enabling you to develop a comprehensive understanding of their respective responsibilities and processes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to shadow professionals, establish mentor relationships, and gain invaluable job experience within the public sector.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of software applications.

  • Participate in coding, debugging, and testing of software components.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and achieve project objectives.

  • Conduct research to support the development of new technologies and solutions.

  • Document software specifications, processes, and user guides.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.

Required Education and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science or a related field. You plan to continue your university education after this work term.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C# and SQL.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and database systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Valued Assets

  • Previous experience with software development projects or internships.

  • Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft .Net technology and development platforms.

  • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., GitLab).

Salary Range: $19.70 - $29.11 Hourly
