Zymeworks is proudly headquartered in our brand new, net-zero facility located in the vibrant Main St biotech hub of Vancouver, BC, with operations in Bellevue, WA, Dublin, Ireland, Singapore and the Bay Area.
Work Requirement
This role will be based out of our Vancouver office and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Automates deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure using modern DevOps tools and practices.
- Monitors and optimizes system performance, troubleshoots issues, and implements solutions.
- Laying down the foundation for a strong DevOps team and establishing a common language between developers and system team members.
- Creating and managing standardized software development environments for the Software Development and Computation Biology teams.
- Working with the Systems team to provide the necessary services for the Software Development team.
- Designs and Implements CI/CD Pipelines for cloud-based applications.
Education and Experience
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience in DevOps.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven ability to collaborate in cross functional team environment.
- Proven ability to assume ownership of a design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
- Expert proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Expert proficiency in deploying Cloud based infrastructure in AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and development infrastructure automation (Jenkins, GitLab).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure configuration and provisioning tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with PostgreSQL including clustering.
- Experience with containerization technologies(Docker, Mesos, containerd).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (vSphere, KVM).
- Experience in on-premises data center operations.
- Experience implementing and managing a hybrid architecture (Cloud + On-prem).
- Experience deploying and maintaining computation clusters (Sun Grid Engine, Parallel Cluster, SLURM, Dask).
- Experience with component repositories.
- Knowledge of high availability techniques.
- Knowledge of system architecture and design.
- Experience working in multiplatform user environments (Windows, Linux, MacOS).

The Canadian base salary range for this full time position is $85,000 - $130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
