What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst with expertise in sensitive data discovery and document labeling technologies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, deploying, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting our cybersecurity infrastructure. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and security of our data assets.

Join a growing and dynamic team of data protection security professionals working to help safeguard RBC and client data. The opportunity is for a Data Protection Systems Specialist will provide oversight, monitoring and enhancement to existing data loss protection services and processes. The incumbent will be responsible to help support the sensitive data discovery and classification infrastructure.


What will you do?

  • Utilize server system administration knowledge, particularly on Windows Servers, to troubleshoot server issues such as network communication and service interruptions.
  • Conduct sensitive data discovery and document labeling technology, including deploying endpoint agents on a large scale, assisting in deploying new scanner infrastructure, and troubleshooting scanner infrastructure issues (e.g., communication failures with cloud services or databases).
  • Leverage PowerShell scripting skills to automate tasks, troubleshoot errors, and utilize vendor documentation effectively.
  • Utilize regex pattern creation knowledge to develop and troubleshoot classifiers for our Data Classification & Labeling solutions, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve cybersecurity issues effectively and collaborate across technical teams and partners

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience working with DLP and/or Cybersecurity roles, with a focus on sensitive data discovery and document labeling technologies.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and regex pattern creation.
  • Solid understanding of server system administration, particularly on Windows Servers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as banking, finance, insurance, healthcare

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of financial services business line(s) and associated applications and processes
  • Experience with Data Cataloging Solutions is a plus.
  • Information Technology standards, methodologies, and audit requirements
