About the Opportunity

We are looking to add an IT Technician to our lively Kamloops branch. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service and technical support to Urban Systems employees and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for performing system administration tasks, monitoring IT system performance and availability, and participating in IT projects as required.

Working alongside our team of IT professionals, you will carry out a variety of duties in computer software and hardware support services, and some computer programming/scripting. You are the first point of contact for branch staff and need to be comfortable and proficient in dealing with a wide variety of issues and people. Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:

  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining effective communication with end-users and addressing their concerns promptly during core working hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Coordinating with other internal IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Overseeing the identification, analysis, and resolution of incidents and problems, ensuring root causes are addressed and documented.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and leading initiatives to enhance service desk efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PCs, Windows servers, printers, network devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Providing technical support to staff both in the office and virtually.
  • Installing and supporting common office and engineering software applications.
  • Coaching staff to help expand their technical knowledge and skills in new and existing platforms.
  • Supporting corporate network infrastructure as required.
  • Travelling to our Prince George office as needed.

About You

 Our ideal candidate is a graduate of a Computer Technology diploma or related program, with 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT support setting, with an emphasis in a Microsoft environment.

  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is considered an asset.
