The SOC QA is responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of SOAR (Security Orchestration Automation and Response) products and services in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires a combination of strong technical skills and a deep understanding of SOAR development and quality assurance methodologies. The ideal candidate for this role will also have experience in security operations, a strong understanding of security protocols and technologies, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills are also essential. The SOC QA will work closely with SOC engineers and operations teams to ensure that SOAR products and services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for SOAR products and services
  • Execute manual and automated tests to ensure SOAR quality and performance
  • Work closely with the engineers and operations teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Participate in Playbook reviews and provide feedback to the engineer team
  • Collaborate with the engineer team to ensure that SOAR products and services are deployed and maintained in a stable and reliable manner
  • Actively monitor the SOAR production environment and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in SOAR development and quality assurance methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Excellent logic analytical and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical skills in SOAR development and quality assurance
  • Experience with Playbook development methodologies such as FortiSOAR or other SOAR
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting production environments
  • Experience with database design and performance tuning methodologies
  • Experience with threat hunting using FortiAnalyzer or other SIEM
  • Experience with incident handling and correlation rules configurations
  • At least one scripting language such as Python, bash or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of network protocols and network communication principles
  • Experience in MITRE ATT&CK, and other threat intelligence platforms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
