Security Penetration tester

Job Description

The Fortinet Team is looking for an Information Security Penetration Tester to join the Information Security Pentest team for Burnaby site. It is a highly technical role assisting the Information Security leadership with daily information security test activities, both on an organizational and technical level.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct regularly penetration tests on web applications, servers and networks under various authentication level to identify technical and business logic vulnerabilities and security risks and show how vulnerabilities and risks can be exploited to compromise the systems and leading further security impacts.
• Vulnerability analysis, PoC construction, risk analysis and assessment to identify the real security exposure to the system.
• Conduct security review on system design, functional design, security test case design and review the security flaws in programming.
• Develop the scripts and programs which aim to help penetrate and infiltrate in scope systems and ICT technologies.
• Keep up with the latest methods for ethical hacking and testing and regularly evaluating new penetration testing tools.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of dedicated experience in an information security professional penetration tester role with strong pentester practiced background (CVE, Pentest reports, Tech articles may be asked as proofs)
• Professional penetration test skills on information technologies including operation systems, software frameworks, database, web applications and networks.
• Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of web applications including authentication, authorization, session management, HTTP protocol, web language, web server and browser architecture and implementation principle.
• Proficient programming ability with languages in order to conduct security code review and develop scripts and programs to help enrich security scan efficiency and penetration testing automation and dive in-depth ability.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $94 000 - $127 000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
