AFSC is currently looking for a Salesforce Senior Developer to join its Digital Services Team to support the core business lines and corporate systems. We are seeking a candidate that fits into AFSCs culture. A spirit of continuous, iterative improvement, eager to learn, tackle new challenges, and uphold AFSCs values.

As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and development of complex software applications and providing technical leadership to other developers. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns, as well as experience working with a wide range of technologies and frameworks. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code that meets the needs of the business and end-users.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Translating documented business requirements and design specifications into software code.
  • Maintaining/evolving applications and forecasting maintenance requirements.
  • Software design, writing code, testing, and debugging software applications.
  • Coordinating, prioritizing, estimating, and organizing own assignments and creating detailed work plans within Azure DevOps and accurate time estimates for technical solutions.
  • Participate in code quality assurance reviews and ensure that development best practices are being followed.
  • Liaise with developer resources in external vendor organizations.
  • Develop, design, and/or maintain application components, unit test procedures, and functional prototypes as specified in the business requirements, architecture, and functional documentation. Interpret design specifications, alternative assessments, and applicable architectures.
  • Design, plan, develop and maintain software and integrations specified in the business requirements, documentation, and architecture.
  • Support integration, performance, and user acceptance testing. Perform quality assurance reviews (peer reviews) on work completed by Developers. Build effective working relationships within the internal client organization, delivering high-quality professional services.
  • Make recommendations regarding the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Contribute to reviewing existing processes, standards, and best practices and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Provide advice, training, and support to various areas of the business as required. Develop and support installation and implementation planning.
  • Understand solutions from a technical perspective and establish an awareness of the architecture, function, and a business perspective.
  • Develop personal capabilities by participating in formal and informal training, maintain external professional accreditation where relevant. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, industry best practices through ongoing education.
  • Build Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science/Computer Technology education with proven experience in software development and support. Minimum 2 years experience with Salesforce. Equivalencies for education and experience will be considered.

For those not meeting the minimum education, additional related work experience will be deemed equivalent. Pro-active in continued professional and personal skill development is an ongoing expectation.
