The Business Analyst (BA) is to be the primary voice and individual responsible for defining, cultivating, and translating the business requirements (including legal and regulatory requirements) into technical requirements and designs. AFSC is currently seeking a Senior BA with data and information management experience. We are moving forward with a new Enterprise Information Management Program and need a Senior Business Analyst to join the team. The BA will be the key resource in managing, planning, and working with business stakeholders. As well the BA will work in partnership with other Digital Services team members to define, deliver and drive the planned and prioritized business solutions. This includes working with information controllers to ensure information, data governance, legal and regulatory requirements are understood and assessed for inclusion into business processes.

What will your growth opportunities look like in this role?

  • Learn and become knowledgeable in information management for all AFSC Business needs including but not limited to insurance, lending, and risk management and be able to apply this knowledge to support business changing needs.
  • Continuous learning through internal and external approved learning programs. Including the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certification, Scrum Certification and Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) Certification programs.
  • Learn and become knowledgeable in Digital Services internal tools and process, building skills through collaboration and community of practices.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Plan and coordinate the identification, elicitation of requirements; conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment; document and manage requirements.
  • Participate in the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
  • Contribute to the establishment, development, and analysis of existing and new information management processes to meet requirements.
  • Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.
  • Manage and execute the deployment and quality assurance processes related to information management.
  • Contribute to the adoption of a digital culture by embracing and applying digital capabilities and agile methodology.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in formal and informal training; gain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in an Information Technology Business Analyst, Information Management, Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or similar role
  • International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA) Certification or planning to complete is preferred.
  • Experience working with Information Technology Service Management Tools for Change Management / Deployments
  • Agile / Scrum Certifications considered an asset.
  • Diploma in Computer Systems
  • Platform Experience / Certifications considered an asset (such as M365)
  • Business Relationship Management Professional Certification or planning to complete is preferred.
