The Opportunity

Our South Bow - Engineering & Asset Integrity team is currently looking to add a Manager, SCADA & Application Development to our growing team in Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Manager, Control Systems & Hydraulics, this position will oversee the team responsible for control and monitoring systems crucial to the safe and reliable operation of our Liquids pipelines assets. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills and offers the chance to make a significant impact in the energy industry by delivering on system safety, availability, and reliability targets, while ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing operations, and evaluating / implementing cutting-edge technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strong leadership, collaboration, and vision for South Bow to deliver on our internal & external customer's needs
  • Lead a team of technical professionals to ensure the safe and reliable operation & continuous improvement of SCADA assets
  • Successfully deliver on SCADA lifecycle upgrade project
  • Deliver business support needs, manage budget, and system reliability targets
  • Integrate new assets, and drive improvements to the SCADA system
  • Prioritize and manage risks
  • Manage SCADA vendor services to ensure system integrity
  • Ensure regulatory compliance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 10 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in SCADA, controls, automation, leak detection or pipeline operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in the midstream energy industry
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a strong ability to lead and engage a team
  • Experience supporting and maintaining large-scale SCADA systems and infrastructure
  • Proven planning capability required to deliver on schedule, quality and budget
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards and regulations in North America
  • Experience in software development and software life cycle management
