The Opportunity

TC Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to drive the Pipeline Integrity (PI) Application Strategy. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert and product lead on a variety of complex engineering tools and applications that support the Pipe Integrity program.

As part of the PI Tools, Technology, and R&D team, you will serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring that the applications assigned to your portfolio continue to meet the evolving needs of the organization and align with strategic roadmaps.

This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in managing engineering software applications and tools to optimize TC Energy's pipeline integrity capabilities. You will be responsible for identifying new requirements, prioritizing enhancements, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the asset lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pipeline integrity management, coupled with experience in application development, product management, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires a detail-oriented approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex technical environments.

What You'll Do

With the leadership of the Pipe Integrity Tools, Technology, and R&D Manager and support from the functional lead, you will work with the team to:

  • Support development of PI tool portfolio strategy, roadmaps, ensuring alignment with IS technology roadmaps.

  • Serve as the technical interface for PI tools, collaborating with IS Solution and Portfolio Architects for assessing and selecting Pipe Integrity management engineering tools and software.

  • Evaluate the capability of various tools to meet Business strategy and roadmaps.

  • Work closely with development teams to provide business context, validate requirements, and ensure the technical implementation aligns with the desired user experience and business objectives.

  • Support the implementation and integration of engineering tools and software into existing PI management system. Collaborating with IS teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration.

  • Prioritize, refine, and manage the backlog of new feature and enhancement requests from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.

  • Establish detailed annual project plans that balance a variety of priorities and constraints from regulatory compliance, resources, and strategic roadmaps.

  • Continuously optimizing and improving the performance of engineering tools and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in PI management.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including PI /GIS teams and IS. Communicating user-facing documents that support training, announcements, and frequent questions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the energy/utilities industry

  • Strong understanding of application development and project management methodologies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively bridge business and technical teams.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting using tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Demonstrated alignment with TC Energy's values of Safety, Innovation, Responsibility, Collaboration, and Integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to distill complex issues and quickly determine resolutions that fit the business needs.

  • Experienced with SQL Server databases, ATP PiMSlider®, T-FORMS, Eagle Eye and/or other Pipe Integrity applications.

  • Knowledge of Inline Inspection data and analysis would be considered an asset.
