About this opportunity:
We are seeking a Manager for the Incident Management & Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Director COIMS and Occupational Safety, this position is accountable for providing technical and functional leadership in Incident Management & Data Analytics. This position will champion the implementation of Incident Management, investigation processes, and performance reporting and analytics that are aligned with Cenovus's Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS). This position will partner with the management of the entities and business units to promote a continuous improvement culture focused on reporting, monitoring and applying lessons learned.
This is a full-time position located out of our Calgary office with periodic travel to field sites.
What you'll do:
Oversee development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Incident Management and Learning processes. Lead reviews into process adherence and key performance indicators
Act as owner of the Corporate Incident Management Process Document and be an SME for Cenovus Operating Integrity Management System (COIMS) expectations in Incident Investigation and learning
Develop the annual Incident Management and Data Analytics workplan goals and objectives in support of the company's Health & Safety vision and journey map initiatives. Manage the performance of the team to deliver on those goals and objectives
Coach and mentor team members to support the operating entities and deployed safety team with Incident Investigations and corrective action development
Assign appropriate investigator resources, review incidents, and provide guidance into possible investigation paths or corrective actions and act a link or facilitator to other SME's or departments as required
Find opportunities for learning from incidents. Lead or support deep dives into incident trending and analysis. Help to identify corporate initiatives or corrective actions for improvement
Collaborate with IS to facilitate sustainment and improvements of existing Health & Safety business systems
Prepare and support senior leadership with presentations related to Incidents
Establish governance for the development and use of consistent reporting and data analyse tools
Ensures current and future talent/skill needs of team are met through development and staffing
Uses an appropriate balance of "doing" and "leading" to achieve team goals
Model the Cenovus values in both internal and cross functional activities
Who you are:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Minimum of 10 years of industry experience
Minimum 5 years' experience supervising staff
Cause Analysis certification and Investigation Certification
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in O&G environment
Occupational Health & Safety certificate/diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution is considered an asset
Process Safety Knowledge and Human Factors and Organization effectiveness is considered an asset
