In this position...

The successful candidate will lead a team of embedded developers, and drive overall Telematics Control Unit (TCU) organizational engineering excellence , enabling the delivery of high-quality TCU software releases as part of the Connectivity Platform organization. This role combines technical leadership, strategic direction, and people development to ensure scalable, reliable, and customer-focused solutions.

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational guidance to the development team.
  • Help define and drive the technical roadmap for TCU software feature and platform development.
  • Oversee implementation of key TCU features, including software updates, stolen vehicle recovery, and diagnostics.
  • Drive process improvements, engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, debugging capabilities, and code coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, systems, hardware, security) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Communicate technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor team members; foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks; proactively resolve bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Own end-to-end TCU feature delivery and ensure features meet customer expectations for reliability, performance, and security.

You'll have...

**Education-**Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Experience-

  • 10+ years' hands-on embedded software development experience in C/C++ and object-oriented design.
  • 7+ years' experience leading embedded software development teams.
  • Proven track record of designing software architecture, managing system integration, and debugging complex distributed systems through at least 2 complete product lifecycles.

**Education-**Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Experience-

  • Experience with modern development, CI/CD, and collaboration tools, including SonarQube (static analysis), gcov (code coverage), Jenkins (CI/CD and job scheduling), JIRA (work tracking), and GitHub (version control).
  • Experience with automotive embedded systems and software validation/testing
  • Experience with embedded Linux operating systems
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques to software development and engineering
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics/visualization tools
