About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our team in Mississauga, ON. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex software projects that involve designing and developing RESTful APIs, integrating cloud-based solutions, and implementing scalable microservices architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java programming, API development using frameworks like Spring, and cloud engineering practices involving Openshift and Kubernetes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, ensure code quality, and optimize system performance. This role requires a strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices to streamline development processes and enhance deployment efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in Java development, API design, and cloud engineering is essential. Hands-on experience with RESTful API development using Spring framework is required. Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB is necessary. Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Openshift and Kubernetes, is highly desirable. Experience working with messaging systems such as MQ and Kafka, along with a solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and clean code principles, is crucial. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are also important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs using Java and Spring framework. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Design and implement microservices architectures leveraging cloud platforms like Openshift and Kubernetes. Integrate backend services with various databases including Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL systems like MongoDB. Work with messaging systems such as MQ and Kafka to facilitate asynchronous communication and data streaming. Follow best practices in software development, including clean code principles, testing, and documentation. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and provide technical guidance to team members. Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration. Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, APIs, and system configurations.
