These roles are ideal for an individual with experience in system design and integration who is ready to shape solutions that support and advance Air Navigation Services in Canada. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to translate business and operational needs into effective system solutions. The Solutions Architect conducts requirements analysis and integration planning, and ensures solutions align with technical, safety, and performance standards across complex environments. Participate in planning, feasibility assessments, and effort estimation, providing input on risks, dependencies, and solution viability. Conduct impact analysis to assess how system changes affect existing architectures, integrations, and operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of requirements, design, and implementation. Develop technical documentation, including specifications, design artifacts, and standards. Support system lifecycle activities, including implementation, integration, validation, and transition to operations. Identify system deficiencies and recommend improvements or corrective actions to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business, operational, and technical expectations. Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry practices to support continuous improvement and innovation. Job Requirements Education: Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in computer engineering, systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or an acceptable combination of education, experience and training. Experience: 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, solution design, or related roles, preferably within complex or integrated environments. Experience gathering and analyzing requirements and contributing to system design and integration activities. Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications and design artifacts. Experience working within Agile or team-based delivery environments. Experience with tools supporting requirements management, modeling, configuration management, and testing (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Enterprise Architect, IBM Jazz). Knowledge: Knowledge of modern software development lifecycle processes, practices, and techniques such as Scaled Agile (SAFe), Agile, and DevOps. Understanding of requirements-gathering techniques and information management frameworks and processes. Knowledge of traditional system development methodologies, including real-time systems, object-oriented analysis and design, database design, and data acquisition design. Knowledge of software configuration management processes, practices, tools, and techniques. Knowledge of different types of technologies, including software, hardware, networks, operating systems, and cloud-based environments. Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations in enterprise architecture and system integrations. Abilities: Ability to analyze and solve technical problems using sound judgment and structured approaches. Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions or improvements. Ability to develop clear, concise, and structured documentation aligned with established standards. Ability to plan, organize, and execute work efficiently to meet tight timelines and shifting priorities. Ability to communicate technical information clearly, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences. Personal Suitability: Builds and maintains positive working relationships through respect, fairness, tact, and open communication. Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, safety, and attention to detail. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support effective decision-making.
