Course Information
This course introduces students how to critically read and appropriately use relevant research and resources on global and international education. The focus will be to identify relevant resources, examine and synthesize research and data sources, and assess research studies. Students are encouraged to search, collate, and synthesize resources relevant to their professional domain in preparation for the Capstone course.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
Qualifications
The candidate will have completed a PhD in Education or relevant discipline with a specialization in global, international or comparative education. They must have additional expertise in conducting education research, with experience in research and publication in the fields of global and/or international education. They will have expertise and experience in mentoring or supervising students in research projects. Generally, instructors in the Global and International Education MPED will have familiarity with key issues/initiatives in comparative education, development education, global citizenship education, globalization and international/intercultural educational settings, as well as a good understanding of the relations between larger policy discourses and local sites of practice. The successful applicant will bring academic and professional strength and collaborative abilities to the position. Having professional experience in the fields of global and international education is an asset. Preference will be given to a candidate who has demonstrated the capacity to teach at graduate levels and in online courses with proficiency in using educational technology.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
