The Team

Scotiabank’s Cards Engineering team is dedicated to building and supporting best-in-class, end-to-end solutions that power Scotiabank’s financial products and services. The team delivers robust backend and API capabilities that enable seamless, secure, and scalable customer experiences across the Cards ecosystem.

The Senior Manager Production Support & Data Analysis leads and evolves production support and data-driven decisioning capabilities for the Canadian Banking Cards Engineering organization. This role is accountable for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the Credit Card ecosystem, combining deep domain expertise with strong operational leadership. As a senior leader, you will oversee the resolution of complex production issues, drive proactive support strategies, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance system reliability and customer experience. You will serve as a subject matter expert across key card applications, leveraging hands-on TSYS knowledge and end-to-end Cards domain expertise. This role requires building and leading a high-performing team while fostering strong partnerships with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering leaders. You will champion a data-driven culture by developing dashboards, defining KPIs, and improving operational visibility to enable informed decision-making and strategic insights.

As Senior Manager, Production Support, you will lead a high-performing team and drive operational excellence across Cards Technology. You will play a critical role in resolving complex issues, strengthening production stability, and enabling data-driven decision-making across assigned Lines of Business.

Lead, coach, and develop a Production Support team of 6+ professionals, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient resolution of customer and system issues across Cards Technology. Own and drive the resolution of complex production issues, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver sustainable solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, engineering teams, vendors, and senior leadership, while delivering clear, concise executive-level communications. Design, develop, and enhance production support dashboards and KPI reporting to improve operational visibility, monitor service performance, identify trends, and enable data-driven decisions. Act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic consultation to business and technology partners on Credit Card products, processes, and supporting systems. Leverage deep hands-on expertise in TSYS TS2 and Cards platforms to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement improvements that enhance support effectiveness and system reliability. Lead data analysis, change management initiatives, and process re-engineering efforts to streamline operations and drive continuous improvement. Make sound, timely decisions in high-pressure situations, balancing risk, customer impact, and business priorities to resolve incidents and support critical releases. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning, building a resilient and high-performing Production Support function. Effectively manage competing priorities, tight deadlines, and urgent production demands while maintaining strong leadership presence and sound judgment.

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

8+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including leadership experience in a Senior Manager or equivalent people-management role. Proven track record as a results-driven, self-motivated leader with strong analytical thinking and the ability to independently resolve complex business and technical challenges while leading teams through change. Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships, including effective communication with Sr. Manager, Director and VP+ audiences, executive reporting, and driving cross-functional alignment. Deep Cards domain expertise, with strong hands-on knowledge of TSYS TS2 and supporting production environments. Strong experience building and leveraging data-driven insights, including developing production support dashboards, defining KPIs, and identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Sound decision-making capabilities, with the ability to assess risk, evaluate options, and make timely, well-informed decisions in a fast-paced production support environment. Solid experience working within Agile and SDLC delivery frameworks. Hands-on experience with advanced Excel, SQL, VB scripting, and automation tools, including low-code and no-code platforms. Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data environments. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, gain alignment, and effectively navigate complex organizational dynamics. Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling effective prioritization, resource coordination, and delivery of timely outcomes in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrated ability to manage difficult conversations and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups. Strong understanding of modern IT practices, systems development methodologies (including requirements and testing), and analytical approaches, with a commitment to staying current with evolving technologies. Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Passion for fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
