TekStaff's Client has a current vacancy for a Mainframe Developer Duration : This is a 3 month contract located in Toronto, ON/ Hybrid
Job Description Typical Day in Role: Develop and maintain applications using COBOL on mainframe systems Perform unit testing of COBOL/DB2 modules Support QA Testing (QAT) execution and defect resolution Collaborate with team members to deliver enhancements and improvements
Candidate Value Proposition: Gain exposure to risk management systems within a Top 5 Canadian bank Strengthen expertise in COBOL development and mainframe technologies Work within a modern DevOps environment, including tools like Bitbucket and Jenkins Collaborate with a team of highly experienced developers and engineers
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of development experience in all these Mainframe technologies: Cobol, JCL, DB2
- Hands-on experience with version control tools: Endevor (preferred) or similar tools (e.g. Control-M)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience with scheduling tools such as CA7
- Financial industry experience is an asset
- Experience with Jenkins and Bit bucket is an additional advantage
Soft Skills Required: • Good communication skills
Education: Bahcelor’s in technical field
