The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Field Technician Specialist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and takes ownership of delivering quality work.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys troubleshooting, and wants to work on projects where technical ability, critical thinking, and attention to detail truly matter.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service integrated security systems.
• Configure and support video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and networking infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in the field.
• Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Shel-Bar’s quality standards.
• Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
• Travel as required to customer sites across Canada with benifits.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience installing and servicing integrated security systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of IP networking and low-voltage systems.
• Experience with enterprise video management and access control platforms is considered a strong asset.
• Industry certifications such as Genetec, Axis Communications, Bosch, networking, structured cabling, or related technical training are highly valued.
• A commitment to professionalism, accountability, and doing the job right.
