About The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team and support the migration and ongoing maintenance of Xplore’s enterprise Business Support Systems (BSS). In this role, you will be instrumental in automating data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of critical business data. Your expertise will contribute to the development of scalable and robust data pipelines within our medallion lakehouse framework, facilitating BI and AI-ready datasets for various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a few years of engineering experience, a passion for data management, and a desire to grow their technical depth and platform ownership. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects within a dynamic environment focused on advancing rural broadband infrastructure.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles Strong proficiency in SQL and Python programming Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Azure, or Snowflake Familiarity with data ingestion from APIs (GraphQL), Salesforce, BSS, or ERP systems Understanding of data governance, quality, and observability practices Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent training/experience Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain reliable ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data sources Implement data transformations and modeling within the medallion lakehouse framework Apply data quality checks and monitor pipeline health to ensure data integrity Contribute to metadata management, lineage, and cataloging efforts Support data quality, observability, and security controls, including role-based access and encryption Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver BI and AI-ready datasets Participate in code reviews, adhere to engineering best practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and testing Document existing and new data processes and system configurations
