About the role

For this U.S. based position, the expected base salary is $178,131.00 - $185,220.00 per year. Additional short-term incentive compensation is a typical part of our compensation structure and would be in addition to the above-stated range. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric IT Corporation seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Foxboro, MA. Job Description: Design, implement, test, and support/operate application services in customer-facing applications. Design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs. Break down complex problems into digestible deliverables, sequence work, and ship iteratively with measurable impact resulting in an executable action plan for themselves and other engineers. Make architectural decisions consistent with the organization’s architectural principles with a bias toward simplicity, resilience, and cost awareness. Uphold security and privacy best practices and address bugs and security issues. Profile and optimize application latency and throughput, conduct capacity planning and implement performance and scale improvements, including query optimization. Write code that is readable, easy to maintain, and is tested in accordance with the organization’s architectural principles and test strategy including unit and integration testing. Collaborate with other team members on large efforts and cross-cutting technical concerns. Employ version control best practices and CI/CD pipelines to test, release, and deploy changes. Remote eligible up to 3 days/wk. Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in backend software engineering, or related occupation, which must include the following experience: 3 years of professional Java development with Spring framework (Spring, or Spring Boot); 3 years of experience developing container-based (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm or similar technologies) cloud-native software, including: (a) design and development of production backend services for a public cloud (Azure or equivalent); and (b) instrumentation and use of observability (logging, metrics, and tracing) to operate or debug services; 2 years of experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures (Apache Kafka or similar); 2 years of working with relational or NoSQL databases for production systems including: schema design, SQL, and performance optimization (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or similar); Acting as technical lead for production initiatives including: authoring or reviewing design docs, technical contracts, coordinating implementation, and driving deployments or releases; Mentoring junior engineers on software best practices and providing technical guidance through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions; and Providing actionable technical feedback to peer or senior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
