What can I expect to do in this role? Reporting to the Senior Technical Analyst, the Intermediate Technical Analyst, Cybersecurity Operations ensures uptime of the Services Server, Network & Security Infrastructure environment on a 24x7 basis. The Analyst implements and maintains the Services Server, Network & Security Infrastructure environment and monitors the infrastructure to ensure it is reliable, accessible and secure. Furthermore, they will provide guidance and training to Junior Technical Analysts and other members of I.T.S.

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the remediation of vulnerabilities, risks, and cyber incidents by analyzing identified issues, collaborating with technical teams to confirm severity and impact, and hands-on implementation of mitigation efforts through to completion. Conducts compliance audits and resolves audit findings, ensuring that security controls, documentation, and processes meet regulatory and organizational standards. Provides input and solutions towards strategic and long-term cybersecurity improvements, contributing to the development of enhanced security practices, strengthening risk-reduction initiatives, and supporting ongoing efforts to mature the organization s security posture. Designs and implements systems for automation tasks, monitoring the environment and sending alerts when failures and incidents occur. Develops and manages project initiatives to improve or stabilize the Server, Network & Security Infrastructure. Develops operational support documentation and training information for co-workers. Researches current market trends as it pertains to Security Infrastructure, design, support and best practices. Provides guidance and training to Junior Technical Analysts and other members of I.T.S. Participates in interview panels for potential new hires. Performs typical duties inherent to the position.

Education/Experience: University or College Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Cyber Security or Engineering and a minimum of three years of technical experience in increasingly responsible Cybersecurity Infrastructure or Information Security related positions or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Security certifications through recognized organizations are considered an asset (e.g., Microsoft, ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA, GIAC.).

Skills/Competencies: Experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2019 and Microsoft Azure; RedHat Enterprise server and VMWare vCenter is preferred. Knowledge of Python, XML and JSON would be an asset. Ability to work on endpoint security and patching, common security misconfigurations and hardening practices. Experience with network devices and basic network security concepts. Ability to interpret vulnerability data, CVSS scoring, threat context, and exploitability to support prioritization. Experience coordinating remediation with cross-functional technical teams in a complex enterprise environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Must have (or be willing and eligible to obtain) a Class G Drivers licence and a Toronto Police Service Blue Card . Must be willing to be on call for after-hours technical support on a rotating basis.

Probation Period: 6 months
