1280 Labs is supporting one of our clients in the manufacturing industry in their search for a Director-level Information Technology professional.
This is a full-time, remote leadership role for an experienced IT professional who can oversee IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, security, applications, and support, while leading large technical teams and partnering closely with senior leadership.
The ideal candidate has experience managing enterprise IT environments, leading digital transformation initiatives, and aligning technology investments with business objectives. Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, and enterprise systems is important. Manufacturing industry experience is considered a strong asset, but is not required.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the organization’s IT strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day technology operations. Manage and mentor large IT teams across infrastructure, systems, applications, security, and support. Partner with senior leadership and business stakeholders to identify technology needs, prioritize initiatives, and support operational growth. Oversee digital transformation projects, modernization efforts, and process improvements. Manage cloud, hybrid, and Microsoft-based environments, including Azure and Microsoft 365 services. Ensure reliability, availability, and security of critical business systems. Oversee cybersecurity practices, risk management, compliance, governance, and incident response. Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and technology service providers. Establish clear IT policies, documentation, reporting, and performance metrics.
Qualifications: Director-level or senior IT leadership experience, ideally in a mid-sized or enterprise environment. Demonstrated experience leading large technical teams and cross-functional IT initiatives. Strong background in IT operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cloud services, and cybersecurity. Experience leading digital transformation, modernization, or business systems improvement initiatives. Familiarity with Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft enterprise services. Strong stakeholder management, communication, budgeting, and vendor management skills. Manufacturing industry experience is an asset, but not required. Relevant education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISM, or related credentials are considered assets. Ability to lead effectively in a remote work environment.
