The person we’re looking for has:

Deep expertise in the WordPress ecosystem, including custom theme and plugin development A strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery) Proven experience in responsive design and ensuring cross-browser compatibility A keen eye for performance and security, with the ability to optimize sites for speed and stability Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently

What you’ll be doing.

In This Role, You’ll Be

Building and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites from the ground up Converting design mockups (from Figma or Adobe XD) into functional, pixel-perfect web pages Customizing themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements without sacrificing site integrity Managing site migrations, backups, and ongoing technical maintenance Collaborating with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience

You have 5+ years of web development, specifically focused on WordPress You’re based in the Ottawa region (this position is in-office only!) You have postsecondary education in web development or relevant industry experience You’re proficient in PHP, MySQL and Git, and have experience with page builders like Elementor and Gutenberg You have a solid understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility (WCAG) standards Agency experience and bilingualism are assets
