Role Description The Data Quality Analyst is a part-time, remote role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within Indigenous Energy Monitor’s platforms and reports. Day-to-day tasks include validating incoming data, performing quality checks, identifying data anomalies, and implementing data cleansing processes. The analyst will support data governance practices by documenting standards, monitoring compliance, and helping maintain data dictionaries and metadata. The role also involves collaborating with research and advisory teams to understand data requirements, performing analytical checks on datasets, and preparing summaries or insights that improve data usability. This position requires proactive communication, careful documentation, and consistent attention to detail in a remote work environment.

Qualifications Strong skills in Data Quality and Data Management to ensure accurate, consistent, and well-structured datasets. Experience with Data Governance practices to support standards, policies, and documentation across data assets. Proficient Analytical Skills and Data Analytics capabilities to assess data integrity and generate meaningful insights. Comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools; experience with SQL or similar tools is an asset. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple data tasks independently in a remote setting. Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain data findings clearly. Post-secondary education in data science, statistics, information management, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Understanding of or interest in Indigenous rights, energy and resource sectors, and socially responsible investment is an advantage.
