Position Name – Senior Azure Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer Type of hiring – Fulltime/Subcon Location – Toronto, ON – Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days remote)
Job Description:
Design and implement Azure infrastructure for OpenText platforms, including resource groups, VNet, subnets, NSGs, and private endpoints. Architect secure, scalable environments using Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Internal Load Balancer, Bastion, Key Vault, and Log Analytics. Lead OS migration and modernization from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2022/2025 using re-platforming and rebuild strategies. Define and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform/Bicep and implement governance with Azure Policy, RBAC, and tagging standards. Design and deploy SQL Server 2022 (Managed Instance or VM) and lead database migrations using DMA and Azure DMS. Develop and maintain golden images for Windows Server and standardize VM provisioning across environments. Implement secure architecture with private networking, Entra ID/AD DS integration, and zero public exposure using Bastion and private endpoints. Lead OpenText application installation, configuration, prerequisite setup (.NET, IIS), and multi-tier integration (web, app, DB layers). Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions using Azure Backup and Recovery Services Vault. Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams for end-to-end delivery, migration, validation, and performance tuning. Produce architecture documentation, ensure compliance with enterprise standards, and support knowledge transfer and handover to operations teams.
