About the role
About Us SBQuantum is a seed-stage startup at the forefront of magnetic sensing innovation. Our vision is to unlock the full potential of magnetic intelligence through our proprietary quantum diamond magnetometer technology.
By combining diamond-based quantum sensors with AI-driven algorithms, we transform complex magnetic field data into actionable, high-value insights. Our solutions enable accurate magnetic mapping and object detection in environments where traditional sensing technologies like GPS, radar, imagery, or sonar cannot perform.
From public safety and defence to space exploration, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, physicists, and data scientists is redefining how the world perceives magnetic signals, turning invisible complexity into clear, useful intelligence.
Why Join Us We’re a small, fast-moving, and ambitious team building something truly transformative. At SBQuantum, you’ll have the opportunity to: Shape cutting-edge quantum sensing technology from the ground up. Collaborate with passionate experts across physics, data science, and engineering. Contribute directly to solving real-world challenges in public safety and aerospace. Work in a dynamic startup environment where your ideas and contributions have immediate impact.
Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a proactive and driven team member with a strong startup mindset, capable of taking ownership of complex problems and navigating ambiguity. The ideal candidate is autonomous, rigorous, and solution-oriented, thrives in multidisciplinary teams, communicates effectively with internal and external partners, and demonstrates a strong commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
The Role As an Integration Specialist, you will design, build and test complete sensing systems around our proprietary quantum magnetometer technology. Working across mechanical, electrical, software, and algorithmic disciplines, you will transform cutting-edge sensors into products that deliver meaningful, actionable information to customers in applications ranging from autonomous navigation to public safety and aerospace.
What You’ll Do Design integrated systems built around our quantum sensors, transforming magnetic measurements into high-value customer solutions. Integrate mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software components into robust, field-ready systems. Deploy our technology on platforms such as drones, aircraft, vehicles, and portable systems. Assemble, configure, troubleshoot, and validate prototype and production systems. Execute laboratory and field test campaigns to evaluate system performance under various environmental and operational conditions. Develop test procedures, document results, and contribute to continuous product improvement. Work closely with physicists, software developers, electronics engineers, and mechanical designers to ensure seamless product integration. Support rapid proof-of-concept developments and technology demonstrations. Assist with customer demonstrations, field deployments, and integration on third-party platforms. Identify integration issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement practical solutions. Contribute to improving integration processes, documentation, tooling, and testing methodologies.
What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in robotics, electrical or mechatronics engineering. Experience integrating complex electromechanical systems involving hardware, firmware, and software. Hands-on experience with sensors, instrumentation, robotics, or autonomous systems. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains. Comfortable working in laboratory and field environments. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and communication skills. A proactive, hands-on mindset and willingness to tackle a broad range of technical challenges in a startup environment. Nice-to-Haves Experience integrating payloads on drones or aircraft. Experience with CAD software and rapid prototyping. Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation and testing. Experience developing automated test procedures or quality assurance tools. Advanced Operations Drone Pilot Certificate. Previous startup experience. What We Offer Competitive salary and meaningful equity. Opportunity to be an early team member shaping both the technology and the culture. Flexible, collaborative work environment. Direct impact: your work will shape breakthrough products in a cutting-edge field. Professional growth opportunities as we scale.
At SBQ, we are mission driven and collaborate with people independently of gender, race, beliefs, citizenship, orientation and value unconventional paths. Let's meet!
