Job Details:
Position Title: Application Architect – ERP and Integration Platforms
Status: Full-Time Administration
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Information Technology Services
Campus/Location: North Campus – must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of four (4) days on-site.
Starting Salary Range: $95,579 - $106,262; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience. *

About the Application Architect - ERP and Integration Platforms Role:
Under the direction of the Enterprise Architect, the Application Architect - ERP and Integration Platforms is responsible for leading the architectural direction, solution design, and implementation oversight of enterprise solutions built on Salesforce and MuleSoft. You will work closely with Product Owners, technical teams, and institutional stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Humber’s enterprise architecture standards. Acting as a bridge between business needs and technical execution, you will translate complex requirements into cohesive architectural designs that support long term sustainability and integration across the digital ecosystem. As a member of Humber’s Enterprise Architecture function, you will ensure platform-level decisions align with institutional strategy, architectural standards, and long-term technology direction. Ultimately, you are accountable for ensuring ERP-based solutions are well-architected, future-ready, and capable of supporting Humber’s evolving digital and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and solution design of Salesforce and MuleSoft implementations, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and institutional standards.

Act as the primary architecture lead for Salesforce, guiding design decisions across platform capabilities, integrations, and data models.

Provide architectural direction and decision making on Salesforce, ERPs and integration solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and long-term platform strategy.

Define and enforce architectural patterns, standards, and best practices for Salesforce, ERPs, and integration solutions.

Lead the design and implementation of integration patterns using MuleSoft and APIs, establishing scalable and reusable integration frameworks across the enterprise.

Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture direction and the broader application and technology landscape.

Provide architectural oversight throughout implementation, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to design standards.

Identify, assess, and mitigate architectural and digital risks within the Salesforce platform and integration landscape, ensuring risks are proactively managed and clearly communicated.

Bring visibility to emerging risks related to integration, data, security, and platform scalability, enabling informed decision making across delivery teams and leadership.

Ensure platform level decisions align with institutional strategy, governance, and standards.

Present architectural concepts, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leadership, translating technical complexity into clear business outcomes.

Support vendor evaluation and solution alignment to ensure third party products and services meet architectural and integration standards.

Drive continuous improvement by evaluating platform capabilities, emerging technologies, and integration approaches to strengthen the enterprise ecosystem.

Drive alignment across product teams by ensuring consistent implementation of architectural standards and patterns within the Salesforce and integration platform.

Ensure data architecture considerations, including data integrity, governance, and flow across systems, are incorporated into all solution designs.

Work within a product management model, supporting Product Owners by ensuring backlog items are technically sound, well-defined, and aligned with architectural standards.

Education
Bachelor’s degree (required) or college diploma plus equivalent industry experience; Master’s (is considered an asset)
Experience/Skills

Minimum seven years of experience in enterprise application architecture, including design, integration, and implementation of complex systems
-
Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on the Salesforce platform, with strong knowledge of platform architecture and best practices
-
Experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, including API design and system integration strategies
-
Experience working within complex, multi system environments, with an understanding of enterprise application ecosystems (SIS, CRM, identity, data platforms)

Experience aligning solution architecture with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models
-
Experience working with senior stakeholders and presenting architectural recommendations to executive audiences
-
Experience in post-secondary education or the broader public sector is considered an asset

Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, including platform capabilities, data models, security, and extensibility

Strong understanding of integration architecture, including API design, event driven patterns, and MuleSoft or similar iPaaS platforms

Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions within complex enterprise environments

Strong systems thinking, with the ability to design across interconnected platforms and services within a broader digital ecosystem

Ability to align solution architecture with enterprise architecture standards and long-term institutional strategy

Strong understanding of digital and architectural risk, including the ability to identify vulnerabilities, assess impact, and implement mitigation strategies

Ability to communicate risk effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling informed decision making

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decisions across technical teams, product leadership, and executive audiences

Ability to establish, influence, and enforce architectural standards and governance across multiple teams and products
-
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex architectural concepts into clear, outcome focused messaging

Experience collaborating with Product Owners, architects, and delivery teams to guide solution design and implementation

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess trade-offs and recommend optimal solutions
