Requirement Summary Job Role/Title: Technical Support Specialist Anticipated Start Date: 5 weeks from start date Job Type: Contract Opportunity. Initial contract for 3 months, with good possibilities of further extensions. Job Location: London, ON - N6A 4K1, Canada. Work Style: On-site work - 5 days per week in the office required Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week, typically Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Contractor to work extra time or on-call: Yes, might require support overtime when required. Rate Cap: $75 - $85/Hr. (on Incorp). The final compensation will be negotiated between the contractor and recruiter based on experience and engagement terms. Interview: Teams interviews; 2 interviews.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Platform Support Specialist to join our Analytics Platform Support team. This role is focused on maintaining and supporting the Cognos, Tableau, and Power BI platforms, including hardware, software, virtual machines, etc., associated with the platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with platform-level administration and support, rather than development using the above tools.
Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain the Cognos, Tableau, and Power BI platforms, including upgrades, patches, license and user management, and performance tuning. Monitor and manage the above platforms across cloud and on-prem environments. Ensure high availability and reliability of the platform for development, testing, and production environments. Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance and optimal configuration. Provide production support and troubleshoot platform-related issues. Document platform configurations, procedures, and support runbooks.
Key tools/skillset required for this role 5+ years of experience with Cognos, Power BI, and Tableau. Experience with AIX, Windows, DB2, SQL server etc., Strong understanding of platform architecture, patching, upgrades, deployment, and VM management. Experience with on-prem, cloud environments (Azure), and hybrid environments. Familiarity with platform monitoring tools and techniques. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with Cognos, Power BI, and Tableau Administration
