About the role

The Group Chief Technology Officer provides strategic and executive leadership for the organization’s technology vision, architecture, digital transformation initiatives, product engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, and innovation agenda. This role is responsible for aligning technology strategy with business objectives, ensuring the organization leverages technology as a competitive advantage while maintaining security, scalability, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. The Group CTO drives innovation, oversees enterprise-wide technology delivery, and builds a high-performing technology organization capable of supporting business growth and transformation. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Group CTO partners closely with business leaders, product teams, operations, finance, and risk management functions to define and execute the organization’s technology roadmap. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Strategy & InnovationDevelop and execute the organization's technology vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap. Align technology investments and initiatives with business objectives and growth plans. Identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovation opportunities that create competitive advantage. Drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization. Establish technology governance frameworks, standards, and best practices. Product Engineering & Software DevelopmentLead software engineering, product development, quality assurance, and platform teams. Oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications and digital products. Drive agile delivery methodologies and engineering excellence across technology teams. Establish scalable software architecture and development standards. Ensure timely delivery of technology solutions that meet business and customer needs. Enterprise Architecture & Technology PlatformsDefine and maintain enterprise architecture strategies that support current and future business requirements. Oversee application architecture, integration frameworks, APIs, and platform ecosystems. Ensure technology platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective. Lead modernization initiatives involving cloud, microservices, automation, and emerging technologies. Promote standardization and optimization across technology environments. Infrastructure, Cloud & Technology OperationsProvide oversight for enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, data centers, and workplace technology services. Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and scalability of technology services. Drive cloud adoption strategies and infrastructure modernization initiatives. Establish operational governance covering incident, change, problem, and release management. Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and technology resilience programs. Cybersecurity & Risk ManagementEstablish and maintain enterprise cybersecurity strategy and governance. Partner with security leaders to ensure compliance with security frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements. Oversee cybersecurity operations, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and threat monitoring. Ensure technology risks are identified, assessed, and effectively mitigated. Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization. Data, AI & Emerging TechnologiesLead enterprise data strategy, analytics platforms, AI/ML initiatives, and data governance programs. Ensure scalable, secure, and compliant management of enterprise data assets. Drive adoption of artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics capabilities. Support innovation through experimentation and evaluation of emerging technologies. Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization. Technology Governance & Financial ManagementDevelop and manage the technology budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and investments. Implement technology portfolio management and prioritization frameworks. Drive cost optimization initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, software, and vendor ecosystems. Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure technology effectiveness and business impact. Ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory, and audit requirements. Vendor & Partner ManagementManage strategic technology vendors, partners, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and technology partnerships. Monitor vendor performance, service delivery, and risk exposure. Ensure technology partnerships deliver measurable business value. Leadership & Talent DevelopmentBuild, lead, and mentor high-performing technology teams across engineering, infrastructure, security, and data functions. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development. Partner with executive stakeholders to ensure technology initiatives support organizational priorities. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology-related matters. Qualifications & Experience12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior executive-level responsibilities. Proven experience leading enterprise technology strategy, software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives. Demonstrated success in scaling technology organizations and delivering complex technology programs. Strong understanding of cloud computing, enterprise architecture, software development, cybersecurity, data platforms, and emerging technologies. Experience working within complex, multi-functional, or highly regulated environments preferred. Track record of aligning technology strategy with business growth objectives. EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (required). Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification (preferred). Preferred CertificationsTOGAF PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) ITIL Certification Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, and other enterprise governance frameworks
