About the role
MapsPeople is entering a pivotal phase of AI-led transformation and growth, shaping the future of spatial intelligence and indoor navigation for customers worldwide. We are looking for a Technical Digital Building Designer to join our internal map digitization team.
The Role
In this role, you will work at the intersection of Spatial data, AI, Machine learning and Digital building design, contributing to the creation of scalable, high-quality indoor mapping solutions. You will leverage your technical skills and creative mindset to interpret floor plans, process data, and design accurate and user-friendly digital maps. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on GIS work, thrives in structured technical environments, working very closely with engineering and is motivated by building the foundation for next-generation indoor mapping systems.
Prepare and process mapping-data for seamless integration to our platform Digitize indoor maps and manage geospatial databases Quality assure digital maps before handover Support the engineering team in the development of the automation pipeline through expertise, data validation, and operational input Work closely with customer success team and clients to develop custom data sets Design workflows to improve delivery efficiency and system performance Actively participate in initiatives to improve product functionality Experience in coordinating project tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery in cross-functional teams
We imagine you come with
2+ years of working experience in QGIS, ArcGIS or ArcMap Practical experience with design software such as AutoCAD A Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize tasks independently Comfort operating with autonomy and ambiguity in a scaling organization Strong ability to work with technical products and data-driven mindset Experience with location-based services, indoor mapping, GIS, wayfinding, or smart building technologies is not required but will be an advantage Strong communication skills and interest in customer-facing collaboration Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proficient in English with excellent communication skills
