What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management Operation, this role oversees the administration, optimization, and strategic direction of the Maximo EAM system, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant operations. It drives continuous improvement through system enhancements, reporting and analytics, data governance, and integrations with enterprise platforms, while supporting upgrades, change management, and user training. Acting as a subject matter expert, the role co-leads the EAM roadmap, promotes ISO‑aligned asset management standards, and enables data‑driven, enterprise-wide asset management practices.

As an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Systems Lead, you will:

  • Configure, administer, and support the Maximo EAM application across development, test, training, and production environments, including system settings, security, and database configurations.
  • Monitor system health and performance, diagnose application or user-related issues, and lead corrective actions to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal user experience.
  • Manage user access, security groups, and role-based permissions in alignment with IT security standards, audit requirements, and the principle of least privilege.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal IT teams to resolve technical issues, apply patches, manage upgrades, and maintain compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Lead System documentation and system configuration changes tracking to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and audit requirements.
  • Analyze system utilization, workflows, and user behavior to identify inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and underutilized Maximo capabilities.
  • Design, validate, and implement approved system enhancements and planned changes, ensuring alignment with business requirements, minimal operational disruption, and effective change management.
  • Act as the technical liaison between project teams, business units, and external partners to define system requirements, assess solution options, and support testing, training, and deployment activities.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain EAM reports and dashboards (including BIRT) to track KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, PM compliance, asset downtime, and work order performance.
  • Serve as data steward for EAM operational data, enforcing data governance standards, auditing data quality, and ensuring alignment across asset hierarchies, materials, locations, and work history.
  • Support and govern EAM integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CAD, BIM, ESM, Oracle Fusion), including data mapping, validation, exception handling, and reconciliation.
  • Act as EAM Subject Matter Expert, co-leading the EAM roadmap, promoting ISO 55000–aligned asset management practices, and driving transformation toward a standardized, data-driven enterprise asset management approach.

This unionized position is classified at the Band 8 level, with an hourly wage of $51.51 based on a 37.5 hour work week. The successful candidate must be available to commence the duties of the position once a selection decision has been made. A test may be administered as a part of the competitive process.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as EAM Administrator in a Manufacturing, Facilities or Airport environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering IBM Maximo, including backend system configuration, customization and Maximo Application Designer for UI changes, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring, securing, upgrading, and implementing Maximo across core modules, including integrations, data migration, large data set management, and BIRT report development in asset‑intensive environments.
  • Proven capability integrating Maximo with enterprise systems such as ERP, GIS, and SCADA using middleware platforms, while enforcing data quality, governance standards, and alignment with ISO 55000, ISO 19650, and ISO 8000 frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise change management initiatives, vendor relationships, KPI development, and continuous improvement programs that enable data‑driven decision-making and operational excellence.
  • College diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (especially Industrial or Systems Engineering) or Business Administration with IT focus
  • IBM Certified Maximo Asset Management Functional Analyst or IBM Certified Administrator - Maximo Manage v8.x or higher
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Knowledge and skills you bring, that set you up for success:

  • Strong SQL/database experience.
  • Specialized knowledge of life cycle management and Enterprise Asset Management Systems.
  • Ability to effectively develop a training presentation on various aspects of the EAM system and deliver it in a professional, knowledgeable manner using the appropriate medium (in-person, online, job aid).
  • In-depth understanding of Maximo’s architecture and modules, including system administration, workflows, escalations, and conditional expressions.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2) and strong SQL skills for querying, reporting, and troubleshooting database-related issues.
  • Strong experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), User Exit Classes, XSLT/XML, and SOAP/REST/JSON.
  • Proven experience with MBO (Maximo Business Objects) customization and Maximo Application Designer for UI changes.
  • Knowledge of MAS and MAS Functional/Technical Certification would be an added advantage.
  • Strong track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders to adopt best practices, standard processes, and system-led workflows across departments such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to align system capabilities with business strategy, including lifecycle asset planning, cost control, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language is required in the coordination and dissemination of information.
  • Proven ability to align system capabilities with corporate strategy and champion enterprise-wide initiatives.
