Position Title: Senior Platform Administrator - DXP
Status: Full-Time Support
Hours: 40 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Information Technology Services
Campus/Location: North Campus – must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of four (4) days on-site.
Payband: K

Salary Range: $47.13 - $54.48

Starting Salary: $47.13

Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the Senior Platform Administrator - DXP Role:
Under the direction of the Technology Product Owner, the Senior Platform Administrator, DXP is responsible for the ongoing operation and stability of assigned application environments. They bring a strong understanding of the platform and its underlying technologies, enabling effective configuration, management, and maintenance to meet organizational needs and ensure sustainable operations.

The role collaborates with infrastructure teams to ensure robust practices for backup, security, data, and application management. The incumbent stays current with platform updates and maintains active engagement with vendors to understand enhancements and assess their impact on existing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and management of DXP platform applications, ensuring ongoing stability and performance

  • Provide day-to-day operational support, maintaining processes, monitoring performance metrics, and reviewing system logs to ensure reliable operations

  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of incidents, defects, and outages, coordinating with vendors and implementation partners as required

  • Review and assess vendor platform updates, communicate impacts to stakeholders, and validate platform performance post-deployment

  • Coordinate platform updates for Humber-managed components, including Drupal core and modules, working with vendors and partners to ensure successful delivery

  • Manage platform security, including roles, permissions, and adherence to access management procedures and segregation of duties

  • Collaborate with ITS teams to maintain and evolve access management processes and controls

  • Ensure adherence to platform standards, guidelines, and content requirements, and coordinate resolution of non-compliance issues

  • Support site creation and configuration to meet migration and new site requirements

  • Support continuous improvement of the platform by identifying opportunities to optimize performance, usability, and content delivery

  • Evaluate, coordinate, and support the integration of new modules, ensuring alignment with platform standards and intended functionality

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to support evolving digital experience capabilities and platform enhancements

  • Contribute to platform improvements by evaluating new features, modules, and capabilities aligned with product needs

  • Provide guidance and enablement to content teams and platform users to ensure effective use of the DXP

  • Work within a product management model, supporting Product Owners by ensuring platform configurations, changes, and enhancements are technically sound and aligned with platform and architectural standards

Education

  • A three-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Continued education in Information Technology or equivalent experience is required .

Experience/Skills

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in large, complex environments designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise-class solutions.
  • Proven experience administering enterprise level Drupal implementations, including platforms such as Acquia Site Factory, with a strong understanding of platform architecture, governance, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Drupal 10, Drupal multisite, Acquia Site Factory, and Acquia Site Studio.
  • Experience administering enterprise DXP/CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with personalization platforms such as VWO Personalization or similar tools.
  • Strong enterprise application administration experience, with a focus on platform stability, performance, and reliability.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem resolution skills, including the ability to assess, prioritize, and escalate issues as required.
  • Solid understanding of operational processes and best practices, with the ability to develop, support, and refine procedures to ensure sustainable operations.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, including PHP, JavaScript and modern frameworks, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience managing integrations with external systems, including APIs, databases, and file-based data sources, to support web content and functionality.
  • Experience supporting environments that follow formal quality assurance, code review, and release management practices.
  • Experience with Acquia DAM (Widen), Acquia Content Hub, or comparable content and asset management solutions.
  • Understanding of coding standards and development best practices, and the ability to ensure adherence within a collaborative delivery environment.
  • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent active listening skills.
  • Understanding of higher education data landscapes is considered an asset.
