About The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and passionate Software Tester to join our expanding team. This role is pivotal in our transition from predominantly manual testing towards a more automation-driven QA process. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing manual test cases, identifying defects, and contributing to the development and maintenance of our automation framework. You will collaborate closely with developers and QA team members to understand product workflows, uncover edge cases, and improve testing methodologies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed testing, problem-solving, and building scalable automated testing solutions. The role is based onsite at our Sherwood Park office, and candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment that values innovation and ownership.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in software testing Strong foundation in manual testing, including test case design, regression, and exploratory testing Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Playwright preferred; Cypress/Selenium acceptable) Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for automation scripting Experience with test case management tools such as TestRail Familiarity with bug tracking systems like Jira or Redmine Comfortable using browser debugging tools and version control systems such as Git Exposure to API testing and CI/CD workflows Excellent documentation and defect reporting skills Educational background in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience

Bonus points for candidates with experience in SaaS environments, supporting teams in transitioning from manual to automated testing, or exposure to modern QA practices like shift-left testing.

Responsibilities

Execute manual test cases for new features, releases, and regression testing cycles to ensure software quality Assist in transitioning testing processes by converting manual test cases into automated scripts Create, update, and maintain comprehensive and structured test plans and test scenarios Identify, document, and track defects with a keen eye for detail, ensuring clear communication of issues Collaborate with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently Develop and maintain automated tests, updating scripts as necessary to reflect product changes Participate in optimizing QA processes, expanding testing coverage, and improving documentation standards Prepare and manage test data to support various testing activities Leverage emerging tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance testing workflows and efficiencies Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the QA team and across product development
